Move Relearner, Deleter and Tutors
Whether it be learning a new move, forgetting an old one, relearning a move, or some combination of the aforementioned the management of your Pokémon's moves is important. We're now accustomed to seeing several types of non-playable characters ingame that allow for us to handle these tasks.
In HGSS we still have the Move Relearner, Move Deleter, an Elemental Beams Tutor, a Headbutt Tutor and three more tutors in the Frontier Front. Let's look at them more closely.
Getting Headbutt in Ilex Forest
Make your way passed the Ilex Forest Shrine and then to the north-east. When you can, head south and you'll meet up with a man who will teach a large of Pokémon the move Headbutt. With its returning use ingame, see here for more, its worthwhile to make a visit here at least once. For a complete listing of Pokémon with this move available to them, see here.
Blackthorn City Move Masters
In Blackthorn City, in a house located to the direct left of the PokéCenter, you will find a group of four people who have all mastered some technique regarding moves.
The man of the left is the Move Deleter, who will delete any HM learned by Pokémon that no longer needs to use it.
Next to the Move Deleter is the Move Relearner, who, for the price of a Heart Scale, will reteach a move to a Pokémon that has forgotten (or in some cases never learned) it. This is especially useful for Pokémon like Magmortar whom have new moves available to them, for instance Thunderpunch, when evolving but can only learn them with a Heart Scale. To get Heart Scales in HGSS you will need to use Rock Smash at the locations provided on the page in that previous link.
The Elder Lady, second from the left, will teach any Dragon type Pokémon the powerful move, Draco Meteor.
Finally, there is the Elder Man on the far right. He will teach a starter Pokémon from any region an elemental beam move specific to its type. With the single exception of Smeargle, these moves can only be learned by a starter Pokémon and it must have very high happiness.
