On May 7, 2009 it was revealed that the highly popular games, Pokémon Gold and Silver, would be re-released on the Nintendo DS with the new titles Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver.
Their revelation came after much speculation from the community. Many hints in the months and weeks leading up to the announcement only enhanced the community's belief that remakes were in the works at GAME FREAK.
The highly anticipated remakes are slated for release during the year that marks the tenth anniversary since their original release.
