Global Link's international launch may be postponed indefinitely for the time being, (with the previous date being March 30th being changed to simply "this Spring"), but the Pokémon team is not sidelining their plans. Sign in with your Pokémon.com Trainer Club account to participate in a game called "Play to Befriend a Pokémon" (super imaginative). If you don't have an account, you might as well make one now, since you will need it to access all Global Link features. Playing the game will allow you to- you'll never believe it- befriend a Pokémon, or perhaps a better word, "reserve" a special Dream World Pokémon that you will be able to move to your game once Global Link launches!
The Pokémon you can receive are the very same Pokémon that were the first for Japan to receive as well. Each of Eevee's seven Eeveelutions are up for grabs and each come with a special ability like all Dream World Pokémon do.

As you break blocks in the game, elemental orbs will begin to pop-up on the screen. Collecting elements will allow you to receive the Eeveelution that corresponds to it. After you've completed the fourth level, all the orbs will be put together and one will randomly be chosen (so, think of it like putting all the orbs into a hat and then one is randomly pulled out). The orbs for Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon are in all levels, Espeon and Umbreon have their orbs in the third and fourth level and Glaceon and Leafeon are only in the fourth level. If you do not want the Pokémon that corresponds to that orb you can retry the game again, but you MUST specify that you do not want the Pokémon they present to you. Once you say "yes, I want that one" you are stuck with it.
