September 11th, 2008. That was the day it all started. The endless grind fuelled by hope. Hope that faith would be restored for this beloved community, hope that it'll be heard about. We're now almost just two years in, and there isn't a single word that could solely capture our endeavour. Let's play this game with five cards; taxing, heartfelt, acquisition, nice, kinship, and slick.
Taxing. It's not incredibly easy work, to be honest. I'd wager Teej and I have demolished our sleep cycle for this week and perhaps many weeks to come over a 3 day spree of SoulSilver coverage. We have to uphold everything in a professional and efficient manner while doing our very best to reach pinnacles of greatness. This requires a lot of time and effort, not to mention obvious dedication. But in the end, nothing brings more joy than seeing it pay off. Nothing.
Heartfelt. Everything we do on the PLDH Youtube channel is a representation of our community. Therefore, everything must be genuine, with PLDH's best intentions in mind, because what we do, say, and how we act on the channel, reflect this amazing place.
Acquisition. The best way to show this is showing examples. We'll take two sets of examples. Our first video, and our latest. Our first milestone video, and our latest. And if you think about it technically, our real latest milestone celebration was this now infamous project. As the days go on behind the helm for both the Youtube channel and the site, we learn more, because we find ourselves thriving for bigger and better things each and every time. We're constantly resetting the height of the bar for ourselves, all for the better. We acquired new feelings of pride for our community, and new skills for us to continue to exceed.
Nice. Because our teachers in school always said we should avoid using this word to describe things. But PLDH is your get away from school, so we're going to use it and all the teachers watching are going to like it. Which is the real reason I used this word, we hope to deliver videos people can enjoy in two different ways. One, in their escape from work and stress, so they may have a good time, but also to inform. Because you're always learning- a teacher isn't required. What we're thinking about when we're working isn't the sole benefits, but us, as the Pokémon community, in general.
Kinship. We're running in four years now, and our core community has no doubt become a close knitted family. Through everything, regardless of how corny it sounds, the fact of the matter is PLDH's true successes are because of each and every one of us. The mark of PLDH is engraved in all of our minds for eternity, so PLDH will never truly die, and PLDH can always be considered a flawless and beautiful success.
Slick. Simply because we are.
By now you're wondering why I took the time to make a news post like this, and it's because well, frankly speaking...
