As promised, Pokémon Smash came through with new gameplay of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, of which included the debut trailer for the games that we saw yesterday, and more, with the "more" being what we're going to talk about.
GameFreak's director Masuda took to the stage with a large steel suitcase containing a copy of Black 2, and they soon hopped to playing through the beginning of the game. We got to see the game's intro, which was a montage of the game's important characters and the main legendaries (Zekrom, Reshiram, Kyurem and the three musketeers) as opposed to the animated video of N's coronation in Black and White. He then named his rival and got straight into the game.
The game seems to start with a lady coming to visit the protagonist in Hiougi City, which is by far the largest starting town yet. The footage then cuts to the protagonist leaving her house. After meeting your rival and his sister, they walk for a bit exploring the town, then retrieve their starters, which were Snivy, Oshawott and Tepig again. After besting his rival, Masuda showed off the game's first route, which was much more detailed than Route 1 in Black and White. On it, he encountered Azurill and Lillipup. Azurill used Bubble despite not usually being able to learn that until Level 7. The next bit of footage they showed was Black Kyurem fighting a Reshiram over local multiplayer. Nothing too exciting compared to Masuda's playthrough, that's for sure. Overall a strong episode of Pokémon Smash. Probably the most actually Pokémon-centric in forever, heh.
