So, I said at the end of our Genesect article that Genesect's reveal was a big deal at PLDH. Why? Well, it's all because of this lil' image.
This right here is the very last image for the Unova Collection. Not including the 23 Unova Origins that the project was started with, or anything in the Rarities gallery, a total of 677 wallpapers have been made by TopHat's hands.
Wait, let me try and word that in a way that better emphasizes what was accomplished: that's a wallpaper for every single Pokémon ever made, plus all of the alternative formes, all made by one artist. There's a lot to say about what happened. I mean, originally it was just an idea he wanted to test out. "What if we tried to create art of Pokémon using the most basic of elements of which you can define and identify a Pokémon by?" An outpour of support made that tiny concept sprout and eventually, on this day, incorporates every single Pokémon ever. And you know, I enjoy writing articles like these because it gives me an excuse to turn back the pages on our site's history; it's been very gratifying, a sentiment that I'm sure TopHat would echo over the493 and The Unova Collection.
So! We have three unique wallpapers made to celebrate, plus the main one without text. Please grab and share! If it wasn't for the overwhelming support that we received when this was started, it honestly wouldn't have gotten this far. Meaning, you were the cause of a considerable amount of stress on our poor artist. Sweet. Jokes aside, thank you, and we're glad everyone enjoyed the wallpapers so much. Now let's not forget to end with a cheesy video plug.
"The Unova Collection, and the general minimalistic wallpaper mission, ended on June 12th, 2012." Hm. Looks good.
