Stationary Legends
Stationary Legends are the Legendary Pokémon which can be found in the same spot in every game and are common staples to the franchise. DPP is no different in that respect and below you will find those Pokémon listed.
Use the proceeding list below to navigate this page. Consider also looking at our page for the Pokémon that roam Sinnoh, event only Legendary Pokémon as well as our page for the Regis, available only in Platinum.
As with the capture of all Legends it is recommended that you bring a Pokémon which can inflict the status effect Paralyze or Sleep, preferably Thunderwave. These conditions make the Legend easier to catch in addition to prolonging the length of that battle; which may be helpful if the Legend is being particularly stubborn and it nears running out of PP.
In addition, remember to save before beginning the battle, should something go wrong or you would like a chance to try again for a better nature/IVs. Timer Balls, Dark Balls, Ultra Balls, Great Balls, and even PokéBalls, at a combined total of AT LEAST 60, should be hand before engaging. If you already have the Pokémon in your PokéDex then Repeat Balls may also prove useful.

Uxie will be found at the same level as it was in Diamond/Pearl. However one thing has changed since then and that is the moves that it has learned when you meet it. In Platinum Uxie will use Swift instead of Confusion. Aside from that Uxie remains exactly the same.

As is the case with Uxie, Azelf is at its Diamond/Pearl level and instead of using Confusion it will use Swift. Future Sight is now the only STAB move it can use and this may be somewhat helpful if you aren't well leveled.

As with previous 3rd installments it is possible to catch both of the version exclusive Legendary Pokémon. In Platinum you will have to complete several tasks before being able to attempt to catch Dialga. Those criterion are listed below, in no specific order.
- Press 'A' on the wall inside the Cave in Celestic Town to trigger a discussion with Cynthia.
- Catch the Pixie Trio
- Obtain the National Dex
- Retrieve the Adamant Orb from inside Mount Coronet
Dialga will appear 23 levels higher in Platinum than it does in DP. With that said its learnset has changed, check the Known Moves list above for more on those changes.
Upon meeting these criteria a blue portal will appear at the Spear Pillar. Press 'A' while directly infront of the portal and your battle with Dialga will begin.
If you believe you met the criteria listed and the portal is not there try exiting the Spear Pillar and re-enter again. This has worked for many people not discovering the portal initially.

- Obtain the National Dex
- Battle your way through Stark Mountain with Buck
- Arrive at Heatran's Cave and watch as Pluto is arrested
- Return to Heatran's Cave

Regigigas

| Level: 1 |
| Available PP: 80 |

Like in Diamond/Pearl to wake Regigigas you will need to have Regice, Regirock and Registeel in your party. Of course you can only gain access to the Snowpoint Temple after obtaining the National Dex.
An interesting note here. Regigigas appears at Level 1 in Platinum. It is possible to trade over the Regi trio from DP or use Pal Park BUT with that it is also possible to get the trio ingame. To get them you must have a special event Regigigas [that was given with preorders to the 11th movie in Japan]... Which, for those who have it, defeats the purpose of the Snowpoint Regigigas.
At any rate, being that it is Level 1, bring either a False Swiper [like: Scyther/Scizor, Zangoose or Gallade]. If you can't/don't have one it would be best to bring a freshly hatched Pokémon...
Diamond Version - Dialga

In the Diamond Version Dialga is, naturally, exclusive so you won't be finding any Palkia. At any rate your confrontation with Dialga, at Spear Pillar ontop of Mount Coronet, may be a little tense. That is because your battle with it immediately follows your final battle with Team Galactic Admin, Cyrus, and there is no time for you to prepare/heal. Be sure to have lots of different kinds of Pokéball as well as heal items and Revives. Dialga's capture may prove somewhat difficult for you at this point in the game.

After completing the storyline and recieving the National Dex make your to Route 214. There you will find a new area has opened up, Sendoff Spring. Make your way through this area until you reach the cave called Turnback Cave.
Turnback Cave has a little game it wants you to play in order for you to reach the room containing Giratina [the 26th and final version of the randomized rooms]. You initial objective is to pass through 3 rooms with pillars in them before you pass through a total of 30 rooms. If you enter 30 rooms the amount of pillar rooms entered will be reset.
The numbers you will find by examinig the pillars indicate first, how many pillars you have seen, and second, how many rooms you have been in thus far.
The further you go the higher the levels of the Pokémon that appear will be. If these Pokémon are around level 67 you know that you are close.
In addition to playing the puzzle game for Giratina if you come back to the cave after capturing/defeating it you can continue the puzzle... The objective is to get to the final room by visiting as few rooms as possible. Below is a list of items you will find in the final room depending upon on how many rooms you visited will attempting to get to the end.
