Notes on Aaron in Platinum
For Platinum Aaron's room was completely redone. It is now a lot more attractive and you may notice the flower seems reminiscient of Shaymin's flower, the Glacidia Flower.
Along with the room change, and like every Pokémon League member, Aaron's roster also got some tweaking. For once the change is almost an advantage from the character's perspective... You will find the speed demon, Yanmega and also Scizor added inplace of Dustox and Beautifly.Quite the additions for Aaron, Scizor is a serious powerhouse.
Unfortunately for him, Aaron is not that great at prediction and as result is quickly obliterated by Fire type attacks.
Notice also the drastic drop in levels for Aaron's Pokémon versus those found in DP.
Fortunately for you the Platinum upgrade also involved a slew of Fire types to choose from; so you are no longer restricted to Rapidash or Infernape, you now also have Magmortar, Houndoom, & Flareon to choose from!

Notes on Aaron in D/P
Recommended Attack Types: Electric, Fire, Flying, Rock, & Ground.
This Elite 4 member is really a breeze, even if you are at a detriment level-wise. There are a lot of weaknesses you can exploit and Bug Types generally aren't Defense oriented. Vespiquen can become a pain if she gets 1 or more Defend Orders off but it shouldn't get to that point.
One thing to watch out for, though, is Drapion. While Torterra can exploit its Ground type weakness you might fall to an Ice Fang. Gastrodon would do well against Drapion, however, a Hippowdon's Ice-type weakness isn't as intense as Torterra's and if you have one at a good level it should be able to pull through for the KO.
