So, last night I went to Smogon to look at the tier list for pretty much the first time since the fourth-gen metagame established Stealth Rock as a permanent fixture for nearly every single team. As the title implies, I was very surprised by what I saw. Some of it (Blaziken and Excadrill in Ubers) I had already heard about, but it was still a little surprising. Other stuff was more surprising (Wobbuffet and Lati@s aren't Uber anymore, but Thundurus is). And some of it, I just flat out did not see coming at all ("Let's see, OU...wait, what's that? Venusaur? Toxicroak?? Tentacruel?! CLOYSTER?!? What on EARTH happened to my metagame?!")

So, yeah, should I just accept that nothing Game Freak does will ever make the metagame stop treating Stealth Rock as an omnipresent existence and try to get back into it, if for no reason other than to avoid big WTF moments like this in the future?
