I'm ok with most 1vs1 mechanics. Even with the ones they threw out (choice items). I do not agree however, with 2vs2 or let alone the 3vs 3. I do dig the rotational battles.

In general the platform that they provided is a sturdy one. And because of the enormous potential of team choices it stays fresh, even after 15 years. One thing that bugs me is that they do not seem to test the competitive scene enough and appear to make monster stats, abilities, etc as if they were drawn from a TopHat or by throwing some darts at a board. On the other side we have monsters that are overengineered and are deemed too centralizing and overshadowing in the competitive scene just to make them look awesome and cool.

So really, just make better monsters.

Yes I agree that the best thing to do is add more stronger poke or maybe strengthen some of the older ones. If they do that people will stop using all the ubers in competitive battles and start using their favorites. Yeah 2 on 2 and 3 on 3 battles need to be tuned a bit, maybe add more combo moves like the earthquake/flying combo. YAY something we can all agree on!!! :D

Ubers have their own tier, so you will only be seeing them if you play that tier. If you are referring to the over-centralized metagame that revolves around the OU tier, you will always have top tier OU's. That will never change.

I meant it in another way. I suggest they hire a few serious competitive players from around the world to playtest and suggest changes to the new Pokemon. As it is now, they make a cool concept (Plusle, Minun comes to mind) but then they make them way too weak to make that concept even playable. I understand the scare and danger of making concepts a bit too strong, but then you had Pokemon like TTar and Garchomp who are simply too overpowered and yet they kept ADDING extra features with a new gen (TTar and SS benefits). They should think more about monsterdesign in a competitive sense and not only in the cool, cute, strong sectors.

Too bad GameFreak still doesn't care about anything competitive.

OHKO moves are still in the game, Double Team is still in the game, (and was turned into a bloody TM Gen 3/4/5 so everyone can learn it!), Stealth Rocks is still broken as ever and can be blocked from removing by having a Ghost type out, most conditions (Paralysis, Confusion, Attraction, Sleep, Frozen) border on the term "hax" which can make or break a battle, and stupid items like Quick Claw, Focus Band, and Bright powder.

The amount of Clauses we have to put in for battle that aren't DIRECTLY related to pokemon (tiers) is maddening. I really doubt Gamefreak cares enough to even take free advice to help the competitive community.

I use ubers to describe overused superpower poke like Dragonite and Garchomp (yeah ubers means other things too, but thats how i like to use it). So I mean, make more poke, more strong...even the playing field so everbody will stop using the same poke strategy and combonations in competition. Its so annoying that gamefreak makes these super poke then make cute, cuddly :d00f: poke that are useless in competitive battles. I am sure we all have our all time favorite poke, and chances are it is useless in competitive battles, mine being Duskull. I agree with cpt morph.: I wish gamefreak would take all this free advice, they NEED to cater to an older audience so we keep buying the game.
